Why attending GemGenève in 2019

Welcome to GemGenève. This new show met the challenge of creating a new meeting place for gems and antique jewelry traders. Good choices were made on all levels and proved the high standing positioning of this first edition.

“GemGeneve has established itself as the new gem show V2.0. The warm spirit, the elegance and family atmosphere that are so hard to get, turned this show into a moment of sharing, exchanges and meetings”  Emmanuel Piat.

A special showcase was dedicated to new designers.

Gemgenève gathered 147 exhibitors from May 10th to May 13th in Geneva.

Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber are gem and antique jewelry traders. They co-founded and co-organized this new show, with the help of their daughters, Nadège and Ida.

Their goal was to bring together gem traders, antique jewelry experts, young designers and laboratories, in a pleasant and cosy yet elegant setting.

Nine independent contemporary jewelry designers were chosen by the jewelry historian Vivienne Becker.

A particular area was dedicated to present the creations of Cora Sheibani, Emmanuel Tarpin, Fabio Salini, Hannah Martin, Tenzo, in order to show how precious matter can be transformed by new generations in a constantly evolving industry.

The show demonstrated a very high-end positioning thanks to a beautiful and tasteful decoration, elegance, harmony and coherence among the booths. The only thing that was supposed to draw the attention was what was inside the showcases.

There was no hierarchization among the different companies and brands present thanks to a clever organization of space; the way booths were arranged made meetings and networking easier.

The warm and friendly atmosphere gave professionals the opportunity to talk and share news in a very selective setting and under natural light.

The fact that the show was easily accessible, by air, road and rail, offering all the advantages of the city of Geneva, a major trade place, contributed to the event’s success.

Dates were chosen to match spring’s main auction sales which draw every year traders, buyers, curators and collectors from the whole world.

The next edition will take place from May 9th to May 12th 2019. A waiting list has already opened for exhibitors.

We’re pretty sure we’ll meet you there next year.
