Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Zambia and in the United States.
Garnet's medium hardness makes this stone fairly easy to scratch.
In order to protect a garnet from abrasion, the usual precautions apply.
Keep the almandine away from heat, thermal shocks, ultrasound and blowtorch as it might cause cracks.
