The name of this garnet comes from the Tsavo Park in Kenya where it was discovered.
However, new deposits have been found in Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, Madagascar and Pakistan.
Garnet’s medium hardness makes this stone quite easy to scratch.
Handle with care and store separately to avoid any risk of abrasion.
Keep the tsavorite garnet away from heat, thermal shocks, ultrasound and blowtorch as it might cause cracks.
